The Church Of The Good Shepherd is situated two miles east of Wigan, Lancashire, England. We
are in the Liverpool Diocese, although we are not very far from Manchester either. Bamfurlong is a small village inbetween
Wigan and Ashton in Makerfield, and the Church Of The Good Shepherd is in the very heart of the village. If you were ever
to visit us you would receive a warm welcome!
Our parish is St Nathaniel's Church and our mother church is situated just up the road in Platt
Bridge. Our vicar is the Reverend Kevin Crinks, assisted by other members of the parish. We have a thriving Sunday School
with around 40 children on the register.
We hold many fund raising activities throughout the year which will be announced on these
pages. Past activities have included: A Sale Of Dried Flowers, Easter Egg Bingo, Christmas Bingo, A Strawberry Fair, Princess
Parties, Family Fun Night (to celebrate Good Shepherd Weekend)...the list goes on and on! Our latest Fundraiser was our 2003
Christmas Fayre which raised £1, 923 towards the Building Fund! WELL DONE TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED IN ANY WAY.
