This page will concentrate on photos from the 10th Wigan BB photo archive
and contributions from members and relatives.

So why is Bill looking so happy? Truth to tell I don't really know! I
presume it's because he, like the others in this photo are off to camp. But where and when...do you know? Judging by the sports
bag it's around 1982? Thanks to Enda Buckley for the picture for supplying the photo and to Edith Wilcocks for getting it
to me.

In the shadow of St Nats Church, another cup winning team show off their haul of trophies. How many Old Boys Association Members
can you spot?

The BB Band in trophy winning mode circa 1986. Just how many photos have been taken outside this wall? Trivia question, which
Platt Bridge pub used to have a picture of the 1st Platt Bridge Company hanging on the wall in the tap room?

Here a picture from BB Camp in 1958. The lads smiling for the camera are from left to right: Back row: Fred Kennerly,
David Griffiths, David Jones, Ronald Hayes, Graham Hargreaves Middle row: John Redmond, David Westhead, David Pugh,
Alan Finney Front row: Frank James, David Grundy, Brian Robinson

Good old Springfield Park eh! Yet another Lythgoe Cup win is being celebrated here, this time in 1984. Neil Bailey, former
member and Wigan Athletic player who is now on the staff at Manchester United is doing the honours. Just one thing chaps,
er where is the cup? Does anyone know why the cup isn't there? For the record here are the victorious players names from left
to right. Front row: Ian Balmer, Mark Barrow, Keith Grundy, Peter Newell, Jonathon Pugh, David Dallimore, Martin
Evans Back row: Gary Willougby, Gary Grimshaw, James Barrow, Neil Bailey, Stephen Naylor, Ian Forshaw, David Grundy

Here are the Wigan Battalion Football League Champions in 1985/86. Pictured with them looking very proud is Mr Sam Davenport.

Ah 1981, The Human League ruled Top of the Pops, Sheana Easton sang the Bond Theme and this team won the League and Cup double!
What a year that was. Left to right the players are: Front row: David Grundy, Gary Willoughby, Paul Lowe, Ian Clark,
Darrell Greenwood, Ian Forshaw Centre: David Wall, Graham Thompson, Michael Dallimore, Simon Greenwood, Andrew Bytheway,
Ian Atherton, Kevin Oldfield Back row: Stuart Evans, Neil Forshaw, Robin Greenwood, Jeffery Barrow, James Barrow,
David Sherrington

Pictured left to right are David Etches, Ian Balmer and Graham Price receiving the Centenary Birthday Cake in 1983. The cake
was made and donated by Mr Alan Edwards of the local Edwards Bakery at Platt Bridge.

These two pictures of the Marching Band in action are only recent additions to the massive 10th Wigan BB Archive as ther were
only taken in May 2001. By the way thanks Mark Speakman for borrrowing them from the back of church! I include these photos
for very good reason as I think they make history for two reasons. The first is that they mark the first time that the band
had played at a Platt Bridge May Queen Carnival for over twenty years! Unless someone can correct me I think it is the SMALLEST
band we have ever had on parade. Due to other committments only SEVEN members were on parade! IS THIS A RECORD OR WHAT?

Surrounding Wayne Simms (who supplied this photo, thanks Wayne) are many familiar faces. A question though, who is the lad
who's face is partially hidden by the mop? I remember his face but who was he? The caption under the photo read: "Members
of the 10th Wigan Company are pictured fund raising for BB Week with a sponsored Car Wash and pew clean. They hope to raise
five hundred pounds". Of course if Mark or Jonathon had been on the photo it would have been PUGH clean! TEE HEE!!

"SPECIAL COVER FOR BRIGADE" screamed the headline in the "Wigan Leader" (remember that?) on August 23rd
1984. The local Platt Bridge branch of the TSB had donated ONE HUNDRED POUNDS towards the cost of making capes as the lads
were "fed up of getting soaked". The chappie presenting the cheque is Mr David Pollitt and as Secretary of the Old
Boys Association I have to tell you that the TSB have been in touch demanding their money back! This is because they allege
that you ONLY WORE THEM FOR THIS PHOTO!! Is that TRUE?
